There are many attractions, shops, and restaurants to visit in the area.  To name a few of the most popular things, visit Bronner's CHRISTmas Wonderland, the world’s largest Christmas store which is open 361 days of the year.  Walk through the Frankenmuth River Place with over thirty shops and attractions including the Bavarian Belle Riverboat, a relaxing hour-long narrated tour of the Cass River (seasonal).  Enjoy a delicious all-you-can-eat chicken dinner at Zehnder’s or at the Bavarian Inn Restaurant.

Frankenmuth Oktoberfest  9/16-9/18  2010

alt

The Munich, Germany Oktoberfest had its beginning as a wedding reception for Crown Prince Ludwig and Princess Theresa.  The wedding ceremony was held in September, but the party lasted for three weeks, ending in October.  They ended up calling the annual celebration Oktoberfest.   The Frankenmuth Oktoberfest has been sanctioned by the city of Munich, so we begin ours on the same weekend in September as Germany begins theirs, however, Germany’s runs for three weeks.  2010 will be the 200th anniversary of the Munich Oktoberfest.  Frankenmuth's began in 1990; we'll be celebrating our 20th!
